Smiling is good for you

An attractive, infectious smile or laugh is a very strong emotional signal to those around us. It expresses self-confidence and satisfaction. A smile breaks down mistrust and fear and “radiant” people have easier lives – so they say.

By contrast, our fellow human beings subconsciously see through a self-conscious smile immediately. With a “real” smile therefore, you show your teeth naturally and give free rein to your feelings. With a “real” smile, the eyes are automatically involved and the smile can therefore be recognised in the whole face – so called “crow's feet” form around the eyes and the cheeks rise.
